Scrolling through “Slaysian” Tina Leung’s gorgeous instagram feed, her repost of Library Mindset’s 40 Cheat Codes I Wish I Knew At 20 caught my eye.
Of course, the things related to writing and doing things the old-fashioned way jumped out at me the most. Like these three gems:
- six – Write down three things you’re grateful for before bed. Read them out loud when you wake up.
- twenty-six – Invest in personalized stationary and use it regularly.
- thirty-nine – Carry a notebook everywhere you go. Stop trying to remember things and just write everything down.
These are things I knew I wanted to incorporate into my life at twenty, but here I am at fifty loving having permission to view them as “cheat codes”: an invitation to reframe things that people made fun of me for as “trying too hard” into ways smart people recognize as gamifying life to make playing it even more efficient, gratifying and fun.
