I’m glad my wife tolerates not only my love of air disaster documentaries, but also my pen(!)chant for pausing all kinds of movies & television shows whenever I spy the employment of a writing utensil. Like this fountain pen in Flight/Risk:
I think it looks like a Waterman Carene? I recognize it because I covet one in Marine Amber *and* recently was surprised by a gift (part of a whole decadent FOUNTAIN of gifts) of what I believe is the next best (& more suitable for me) thing & always had wishlisted in its place: a Pilot E95 in Burgundy/Ivory.
The Marine Amber Carene reminds me of an old mint-condition Chris-Craft boat, & this E95 is stylistically the closest match in streamlined shapes and warm rich colors with an inlaid nib … but more like a champagne-metal car crossed with a lipstick case that you’d motor around the big city in, SLOWLY cruising by so everyone can see you in your shiny finery.
I have not allowed myself to ink it up and write with it yet. I must be more polished & glamorous to be worthy of the instrument & able to confidently immerse myself in the experience.
